The Megalithic monuments are a constant feature on this route and continuously remind us of pre-history. Another group are the tumuli of “Alto do Buscal”. These are a bit more discreet, but not less important. Unfortunately these aren’t as well preserved as the others. The tumulus of “Alto do Buscal 4” is partially cut by the plateau’s forest track. This happened at a time when the importance of these monuments wasn’t recognised by most people.
