MAIN TRAIL - NAME OF INTEREST - CONCEPT -
Quartz veins or veinlets intruded into the Gerês Granite are frequently found in the Serra do Gerês massif. These magmatic bodies, through installing themselves into faults and fissures, tend have a tabular shape of greatly varying dimensions (veinlets may be just millimetres or centimetres thick, whilst veins might be many metres) and orientation. They may be made up of a single body or be in the form of a stockwork, such as is seen at this location. («) BACK TO TRAILS |
