NAME OF INTEREST - Cávado River

CONCEPT - Geological Heritage

The Cávado river flows in a valley whose origin is due to the presence of a fault line.
At this point we can see two forms of eluvial erosion: deposits (also known as clastics or also rolled pebbles, which have varying size and composition but a round shape) and giant’s stewpots (strange cavities that result from the attrition of water borne sediments against the bedrock of the river).
