NAME OF INTEREST - Group of “Weathering Hollows” (Pias)
CONCEPT - Geological Heritage
Here one can see the formation of several weathering hollows (pias) (also known as gnammas, vascas or oriçangas) that are typical shapes of granite morphology.
These weathering pits are small holes formed in the horizontal surface of granite blocks, resulting from erosion due to water being retained in the blocks’ faults or fissures.
