MAIN TRAIL - NAME OF INTEREST - CONCEPT - In the mountain range of PNPG, the meadows located at great height are frequently used by bovine and equine (“garranos”) livestock, keeping it clear from brushwood, through grazing and also through controlled fires. Besides cattle, many other animals use these glades as a source of food, namely the boar (Sus scrofa) – that leaves many traces of its presence, when rummaging the soil looking for roots, bulbs or plant tubers – the rabbit (Orictolagus cuniculus), Lusitanian pine vole (Microtus lusitanicus), partridge (Alectoris rufa), meadow pipit (Anthus pratensis) and the stonechat (Saxicola torquata).
