At this point we can see the formation of various shallow hollows which are known as gnammas (or pias in Portuguese), characteristic shapes in granite morphology. Gnammas are small cavities formed on horizontal surfaces of granite blocks and result from erosion provoked by water retention in fissures or irregularities in the rocks.
