P้ de Cabril Route

The Pé de Cabril route starts at the Pass of Leonte, alongside the old Forestry Guard house and ends in the village of Campo do Gerês. It passes through the heart of the Serra do Gerês, following an old path for about 7 kms. The ground conditions mean that this route can only be followed on foot. It is recommended that 5 hours be allowed to follow the whole route, allowing time to appreciate the suggested points of interest (21 points of interest are identified and described, these related to the natural, cultural, geological and scenic attributes at each location).
The route is graded moderate to difficult and so is recommended only for people who are experienced and physically fit. There is no guarantee of being able to replenish water along the route (springs are seasonal).
